Richard Rollison is not your average posh boy toff. This is because Rollison has actual useful work to perform which ultimately serves the common good. Called to action, Rollison sets out to investigate the black-market trade in wartime Britain and soon finds himself embroiled in a widespread scheme of illegal goods trafficking, protection racketeering, and murder. In short, goods are stolen from shops and warehouses, which are then made overpriced and forced upon vendors through threat of violence, the profits of which are then invested into a depressed wartime property market, leaving the crooked schemers with fixed property assets that can later be sold off for cold hard cash. Anyone who talks about the scheme, or seems likely to, is soon eliminated in the cruellest of ways. Rollison will need to get to Barbicue, the murdering gangster, but how? Contains useful sociological information related to the immediate aftermath of the blitz attacks on London which occurred between September 1940 and May 1941. The blitz or blitzkrieg was an extensive bombing campaign conducted by the German air force against Britain during WWII (1939-1945). Fiction. 174 pages.
