INDEPENDENT PROJECTS
The Empty Properties Register highlights, primarily through onsite photography, over 600 empty properties across both Sydney and Melbourne.
The Beacon is an online newspaper that values thought-provoking written content.
For the Pleasure of Reading is designed to encourage wider reading habits and hosts over 100 book reviews. Includes both fiction and non-fiction.
Exhibitions are larger projects that draw upon a range of different resources for the purpose of illuminating the subject under investigation. World Turned Upside Down focuses on the plight of the homeless during a national housing crisis.
JOURNALISM + PHOTOGRAPHY
The primary focus of my writing and research has been on different aspects of Australia’s housing and accommodation crisis. An important component of my work is onsite photography.
I believe that appropriate housing is a fundamental human right and that every person should have a place to call home. This view is consistently reflected in my work.
GEOPOLITICS & DECLINING WESTERN POWER
My interests extend to international relations and the changing world order. As the unipolar moment and American cultural hegemony wanes, new centres of power and cultural influence have emerged. To this end, the world is shifting to an international model based on spheres of influence. And some of these spheres will remain outside of American control. I find this process of social and political change both fascinating and frightening. This perspective informs my writing and research.

THE SPECTRE OF UNWANTED TRANSFORMATION
Displacement is an art exhibition and critical inquiry into the role, purpose and characteristics of the new industrial revolution. The rapid onset of technological change has seen artificial intelligence and robotics expand use-cases to such a degree that large sections of the current workforce have been or will be made redundant, laid off, sacked, or otherwise displaced.
WORLD TURNED UPSIDE DOWN
A JOURNEY INTO THE UNDERBELLY OF SYDNEY
Over the course of one year, I have documented Sydney’s deepening accommodation crisis. This has involved visiting numerous homeless encampments around Sydney. Where I often discussed the causes of homelessness with those living on the streets. Causes identified included fleeing from domestic violence, having little to no money following eviction, experiencing a sudden crisis or misfortune, being without family or friends who could temporarily accommodate, likely mental illness, and no access to useful and appropriate social services.
