The Beacon
The place to find all of my written articles. Ever since the PUNK HUMAN website went live in March 2024, the primary focus of my writing and research has been on different aspects of Sydney’s housing and accommodation crisis. An important component of my work is onsite photography.
I believe that appropriate housing is a fundamental human right and that every person should have a place to call home. This view is consistently reflected in my work.
Geopolitics
My interests extend to international relations and the changing world order. As the unipolar moment and American cultural hegemony wanes, new centres of power and cultural influence have emerged. To this end, the world is shifting to an international model based on spheres of influence. And some of these spheres will remain outside of American control. I find this process of social and political change both fascinating and frightening. This perspective informs my writing and research.

A JOURNEY INTO THE UNDERBELLY OF SYDNEY
Over the course of one year, I have documented Sydney’s deepening accommodation crisis. This has involved visiting numerous homeless encampments around Sydney. Where I often discussed the causes of homelessness with those living on the streets. Causes identified included fleeing from domestic violence, having little to no money following eviction, experiencing a sudden crisis or misfortune, being without family or friends who could temporarily accommodate, likely mental illness, and no access to useful and appropriate social services.
