COLD WAR RECAP

American cultural and political leadership/domination began its ascendency in the aftermath of World War One. It was solidified after World War Two.

Between 1989 and 1992, the USSR collapsed and the US, quite suddenly, was left alone in the driver’s seat. Throughout the unipolar moment, 1989 – 2007, the USA instigated a number of forever wars.

When Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered his Munich speech in 2007, the unipolar moment began to unravel.

Observing a resurgent East, in 2014 the USA encouraged and assisted local and imported nazis to bring forward a brutal war against Russians with Ukrainian citizenship who were living in the Donbass (the majority). The objective was to put Russians in their place, an idea that has long been a dominant stream within the American imagination.

On May 2, 2014, Ukrainian nationalists attacked the Anti-Maidan camp in Odessa, forcing many to take refuge in the Trades Union building. Nationalists then set the building on fire. Many of those inside the building subsequently died.

On February 24, 2022, Russia stepped forth to protect the people under attack from the advancing nazi horde. It presently appears that Russia will succeed in this endeavour.
